The goal of this sculpture was to capture the power and dynamism of the black panther by integrating the notions of force and movement into its structure.

The creation process began with a detailed anatomical study, essential for understanding the muscular tensions and natural balance of the animal. A scale model was then developed, built upon a modular internal metal structure acting as a skeleton. This approach allowed for adjustments to the axes and revealed the lines of force, enhancing the sculpture’s tension and expressiveness.

This meticulous work required 400 hours of craftsmanship over a six-month period. The result, a sculpture with an intense expression and dynamic structure, was selected in 2019 by the Royal British Society of Artists for its annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.

In 2021, this research evolved toward a more geometric approach, further refining the perception of movement and strength in the animal. This new version was selected by the David Shepherd Foundation and is currently a finalist for the 2023 Artist of the Year award. It will be showcased at the foundation’s annual exhibition in September, where it will be judged by an international panel of art critics.
